28 Lacs

That is the amount I saved by booking a flat in early 2007, as against my neighbours who booked theirs in late 2008. Am I happy? Check this link for the answer.

  1. haha ! Nice one. I remember reading one post on Mayur's blog titled "Hapiness is realative". Here is is http://maxmayur.wordpress.com/2008/10/22/happiness_is_relative/ I agree to the thoughts he has said. :-)

  2. When I read "Which option do you choose to maximize your personal happiness?" I immediately chose option 2 :)

  3. Yeah I had read this earlier. Kidakaka had it posted on his blog.

I think I'll negotiate with every one I know and ask $5million a piece... and then select option 1

Your solution seems infeasible. If you were negotiating with me, it would leave me with 15mn and you would also have 15mn (the deal would be subject to the fact that you do not choose option2 else I am a sucker, in fact I am negative 5mn in my account if you choose option2). If both have 15 million dollars, then what incentive would I have to part with my money if I am going to be only as rich as you are. Since happiness is relative, I will be no more happier than when you and I had 0mn dollars in our account. Now add the fact that I know you would be striking similar deals with other friends. That would make you much much richer than me. So I will not part 5mn dollars because it completely negates my chances of becoming richer, and hence more happier, than you.

  5. You would still end up being richer than many people you know.

Moreover, the Genie has granted a wish to me and not you. So do you really have a choice?
